Justin Flavel
Managing Director
Justin’s experience spans across 20 years in accounting, financial analysis and general business practice.
Although born and bred on the land, Justin’s interest was more in spreadsheets, ledgers, and finance which led him to attend university. In 1992, Justin graduated with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Finance. As well as qualifying as a CPA member and becoming a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia, he began gaining practical experience in small and mid-tier accounting practices.
During the late 90s, Justin decided to expand his horizons and travel through Europe. It was during this time that he seized the opportunity to expand his knowledge on the workings of large organisations by taking on roles in multinational corporations.
Today, Justin’s passion is in facilitating businesses to grow and evolve. His focus is on acting in the role of business mentor to help clients develop the full potential of their businesses. He joins clients on their unique journey, and provides the tools and knowledge they need along the way to make the right decisions.
Justin’s aim for his clients parallels his own philosophy and personal journey—focusing on his own career growth and business success while maintaining balance in his life with his wife and three daughters.

Peta Berry
Manager SMSF Solutions
Working across Omnis Group’s Accounting and Financial Planning businesses, Accountant Peta Berry has a strong background in self-managed super fund (SMSF) accounting and administration.
She joined Omnis Group in 2008 to run the SMSF Solutions Department, specialising in:
- SMSF Administration
- SMSF Preparation of Annual Financial Statements & Tax Returns
- SMSF Compliance
- SMSF Audit Management
- SMSF Setup & General Advice
“We do everything and our clients don’t have to do anything,” says Peta. “We take care of things so they can fully rely on us to know what’s going on when it comes to their self-managed super.”
“I first started working in the SMSF niche and was able to give it my full attention as opposed to being an accounting GP. I quite like being a specialist and the fact that our clients are real people – helping mums, dads and families – rather than big corporations.”
Peta has built her career on being an SMSF specialist, having had roles in some of Perth’s top accounting and investment houses.
“Currently people have lots of questions about Australia’s recent super reform which are full on and they don’t have their heads around it. Being so confusing it’s important that they ring us when they have questions,” she added.
A fan of the ‘Work Hard Play Hard’ approach to life, outside of work Peta competes in hockey and touch football. Her touch footy team won the 2018 Over 40s State Championship and she played on the Hockey Grand Final Masters winning team in 2017.
Multi-faceted Peta is a devoted mum; she coaches kids’ hockey, is a member of the primary school Board and also speaks broken Japanese having lived in Japan for a year. Most weeks she bakes a cake and brings it to the office (chocolate brownies and orange cake are particular faves).
“I find the best thing is our give and take,” Peta says. “Working cohesively is mutually beneficial to the team and helps us achieve balance which is important.”
Peta Berry CPA is a member of CPA Australia. She attained her Bachelor of Business in Accounting from Edith Cowan University.
Daniel Morcombe
Senior Financial Planner
Omnis Group’s Daniel Morcombe is an experienced financial planner and personal risk advisor who helps business owners, medical specialists and retirees to manage their often complex financial affairs to build and protect their wealth so they may enjoy a life of financial security and choice.
Daniel’s clients share key characteristics; as business owners and medical specialists both young and established professionals – they experience considerable time pressure; as high-income earners they have financial complexity that regularly traverses personal and business matters, and in retirement Daniel’s clients require advice for reliable income streams and wealth protection strategies.
A financial services professional with advanced qualifications since 2002, Daniel’s considerable financial knowledge is matched by his ability to build strong and genuine personal relationships. Firmly focused on helping people, he strives to make a difference though financial education, mentoring and leadership that enables his clients to protect their livelihood and grow their wealth.
Driven to truly understand his clients’ needs, values and financial situation, Daniel often uncovers important matters some of which can have life-changing impacts.
Most notably, and as a result of his diligent fact-finding approach, Daniel identified an unclaimed trauma benefit for $720,000 that allowed a grateful new client to become financially secure following a difficult and trying time caused by serious illness.
Daniel understands that wealth means different things to different people.
By defining what money represents for each individual, he establishes a platform upon which a truly personal financial plan can be built. Regular reviews enable flexibility for whatever life may bring offering the opportunity to reset plans to accommodate changing needs while maintaining the financial discipline necessary for achieving the goals that make life meaningful.
He is astute, practical and most importantly accessible. Naturally patient and thoughtful, he mentors and supports his clients and understands that complex financial matters require clear explanation.
Daniel works closely with a range of specialised professionals – often accountants, solicitors and lenders – and considers all matters that in influence or contribute to outcomes.
He encourages collaboration believing his duty of care includes ‘fresh professional eyes’ to capture hidden opportunities and mitigate risks.
Daniel considers himself a ‘financial project manager’ integrating his clients’ personal financial affairs with their business matters. His advice includes strategies for superannuation and investment; personal risk; budgeting and savings; lending and debt management and tax efficiencies and estate planning.
By virtue of his ‘clients for life’ approach, Daniel’s advice is personalised, inclusive of overarching objectives and focused on achieving well-articulated financial goals. He anticipates needs, guides decision making and represents his clients’ best interests at every stage.
Personally…
Daniel is the outdoors type – cycling, camping with his wife and three children and following the AFL. He admits to being a one-eyed (and long-suffering) Freo supporter! For Daniel, participating (and getting his kids off technology!) is what life’s all about.
Daniel grew up in Moora, a rural community with a population of around 2,000 people in the Western Australian Wheatbelt. He attended school in Perth, later working in agriculture as a farm advisor. In this role, Daniel gained respect as a clear communicator able to consider big picture matters and translate complex issues into practical strategies. It is these qualities that continue to underpin his success as a financial planner today.
